Huawei Mobile Thailand Congress 2019 to be held in Bangkok from March 25 to April 5

On the occasion of the Mobile Thailand Congress 2019 (Huawei MTC 2019), Huawei will present its latest 5G and AI technologies available in Thailand, under the concept “Building a Fully Connected, Intelligent Thailand” with three main themes: “5G in On”, “Innovation Inspiring New Growth” and “AI Enabling Intelligent Operations”.

Organized from March 25 to April 5 at Huawei Office’s Exhibition Hall at G Tower’s 39th Floor, the event aims to welcome over 2,000 visitors, including government officials, telecom operators, business executives, academics, media members and other ICT enthusiasts.

“We want to deliver a double message to our guests,” explains Mr. Deng Feng, Deputy Managing Director, Huawei Technologies (Thailand). “First, 5G is on, with an entire 5G ecosystem that is mature and ready for commercialization. Second, Huawei is the undisputed global leader for 5G. We have signed over 30 contracts with leading telecom operators in more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe and the Middle-East, and have already shipped over 40,000 5G base stations.”

Huawei is ready to provide digital ICT technologies to help Thailand accelerate transformation, seize opportunities, achieve revenue increase and efficiency improvement, and make preparations to achieve business success in the 5G era.

“5G development is accelerating at speeds beyond imagination. Leading global operators are developing 5G commercial deployment faster than ever. The industry is prepared for various fields, including 5G standards, products, terminals, security and business. We will work closely with our customers and partners to grab 5G innovation opportunities and jointly usher in a new era of 5G”, Mr. Deng Feng added.

Huawei MTC 2019 will comprise two elements for its guests: the exhibition hall that will showcase several 5G solutions in Cloud IT, Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Home, Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI); plus a series of presentations to educate customers and partners and share Huawei experts’ experience and successes on the following topics:

 Intelligence +: Insights into Global DICT Trends and MWC 2019 (DICT)
 5G is ON, Simplified Network for Superior Experience (5G)
 Premium WiFi Solution and NCE User Cases (2H)
 Cloud and Network Synergy Empowers B2B (2B)
 User value monetization energizing 2C new growth (2C)
 Cloud & AI

As part of these keynotes, Huawei experts will present the latest in AI technologies such as the SoftCOM AI solution for autonomous driving networks, which aims to significantly improve operating efficiency, network performance, O&M efficiency, and user experiences. The SoftCOM AI solution enables “0 bits, 0 watts” and adaptive beam adjustment, thereby maximizing the value of telecom networks.

They will explain how 5G and AI can help create a new environment for B2B solutions, energize B2C growth, boost B2H and accelerate Cloud IoT. “These innovative business solutions will enable telecom operators to expand their business horizons and increase their growth,” says Mr. Woragarn Likhitdechasakdi, Deputy CTO of Carrier Network, Huawei Technologies (Thailand).
At the Mobile World Congress 2019 which was held recently in Barcelona, Spain, Huawei predicted that 5G will generate industry opportunities worth USD 1.2 trillion in Southeast Asia within the next five years. “Southeast Asia will stand out with the fastest GDP growth, around 5-6%, and digital economy will be the major driver behind such growth, accounting for 20 percent,” said Mr. James Wu, President of Huawei Southeast Asia. “Massive commercial use of 5G in markets such as India, Thailand and Vietnam will start as early as 2020. In the next five years, the number of 5G subscribers in the region will top 80 million. Wireless, digital and intelligent equipment will improve social productivity by 4-8% on average,” he added.

Last February, Huawei invested USD 5 million (THB 160 million) for the 5G Testbed in the Sri Racha campus of Kasetsart University, in partnership with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa). Another testing site is also under preparation at Chulalongkorn’s Faculty of Engineering in Bangkok, in cooperation with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), Chulalongkorn University and the telecom operators (AIS, DTAC and TRUE).
